Christmas at First Baptist
The Christmas season at First Baptist looks to be filled with meaningful activities to help us remember and experience the coming of the Savior. In our Sunday worship services there will be all the traditional carols and some newer musical offerings; a different family each week will light Advent Candles; and Pastor Steve will bring a message considering what it means that we have had a Divine Visitor come to us. He will talk about how it shows our significance that he came, who he is and the glory of his visit, what he came to give us, and how long he is going to stay. On the 18th, our children will be sharing their Christmas Program (rumor is there are dancers this year) in the first half of worship. On Wednesday the 23rd, at 6:30 PM, all are welcome to join in a time of caroling in our community followed by some hot chocolate back at church. On Christmas Eve there will be carols, candles and communion for the family at 6 PM; this is a chance for your family to share the holy wonder of Christmas together with no hustle and bustle, TVs or Twitter. And, on Christmas morning there will be a family-like celebration of singing, a short message and, of course, a present for all. We believe this schedule will allow you to enjoy all the things that are of special interest to you and yours at Christmas, but to receive from the Lord what he wants you to have for the season. Join us that you might have a blessed and merry Christmas.
